NEGAR JAVAHERIAN

Stage, TV and film actress Negar Javaherian was born in Tehran in 1982. Her cinematic career began in early 2000s. With only 25 credits to her name —albeit with several acclaimed performances on stage— she has created a distinctive resume that places her among the most prominent actresses of her generation in Iranian cinema.

She has worked with such prominent directors as Bahram Tavakoli, Behnam Behzadi, Abdolreza Kahani, Reza Mirkarimi, Rakhshan Banietemad, and Houman Seyedi. The trio of her memorable appearances in Gold and Copper, The Painting Pool and Here Without Me deserve special mention. She has won the best lead actress award at Fajr Film Festival and the best lead actress award at the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards, among many other honours.

Negar Javaherian will be attending this year's CineIran Festival with Negar, directed by her husband Rambod Javan.
