With two Oscars for A Separation and The Salesman, and countless other awards, Asghar Farhadi has transcended beyond the boundaries of Iranian cinema into one of the most successful directors currently working. In his latest feature, he's moved to a new setting in the Spanish countryside, and has brought on board some of the biggest names in Spanish-language cinema behind and in front of the camera, including Penelop Cruz and Javier Bardem. 

In this thoroughly entertaining melodrama, which has already been screened at festivals such as Cannes and TIFF, Farhadi creates a layered, psychological drama about a family wedding interrupted by a shocking crime that reveals dark, long-buried secrets. Insightful, beautifully shot and vivaciously performed, Everybody Knows is a pure joy to watch.
